Two of my textile mixed media pieces were selected by the juror to be included in this exhibit:

DERRICK DESTRUCTION
Texile Mixed Media Art Quilt, 44"x24"
(received a special merit award from the juror)
I collaborated with artist Susan Helmer who painted on silk for the left half and I used fabric collage technique adding plastic and metal objects for the right half to show the impending enviromenatl degradation from polution and a proposed oil rig in the Monterey Bay.
KABUKI WARRIOR
Textile mixed media mounted on canvas 36"x24"
