I am so honored that Eve in The Garden Of Persimmons was chosen to be included in the prestigious De Young Open Exhibit featuring select Bay Area artists.
The exhibit was praised nationally:
-The de Young Open Dazzles (The New York Times)
-A Rousing Showcase for Bay Area Artists (NY Times)
-The de Young Open is the only exhibition of its kind at a major American museum (Forbes)
-The juried exhibition featuring work by artists who live in the nine Bay Area counties is a bountiful celebration of the region's talent.
Eve was purchased by a couple from Scotland who have several works of art featuring Eve in the garden of Eden.
I loved that my friends sent me photos of them standing next to Eve in the de Young Museum Gallery. This is me pointing to Eve.
KLIMT'S MUSE AT MIDNIGHT
20"x30" textile mixed media
Women have always been a muse that awakens the creative spirit in artists. Imagine Gustav Klimt painting his favorite female muse at midnight under a galaxy of stars, the sensuality of her body revealed beneath her gown. Jewel toned fabric capture the gold iridescence of Klimt's paintings. Her face and outline of her body are hand stitched. The stars are painted gold.

BODY OF ART2

Body of Art is a figurative journey through a woman's life as represented by miniature replicas of my life drawing studies, etchings, and stone lithographs. Small human figures appear as tattoos imprinted on the body of a reclining female nude. A child, adolescent, young adults, mature adults, and an elderly woman and man tell a visual story of life's impressions, joy, sadness, love, loss, and aging. It is also a figurative illustration of my art journey beginning with my etchings and culminating with the fabric collage art quilt.
